1550 is a 65-seater Volvo B10M, new to Ulsterbus in September 1994 as part of a batch of 49 B10M’s delivered in 1994. 1550, registration ‘DAZ 1550’ is also quite a historical vehicle, as it was the last Q type bus ever built for Ulsterbus, making it historically significant.
1550 has an Alexanders Q Type ‘B65F’ body. 1550 would have mostly been seen working throughout Co. Down being based out of Newry Depot. It spent 20 years in service until finally being withdrawn as recent as in June 2014. Within the same year, it was bought along with many other Q types by Dodd’s of Troon, Ayrshire, for school bus work. It remained here until 2017, where it was Donated to the UTHG for further Preservation.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Dodds of Troon for allowing this bus to remain part of transport history
